A real highlight from TAMIYA in the range of 1:48 scale aircraft models: The Lockheed Martin® F-35®A Lightning II ®! The model is a complete mold novelty and in-house development by TAMIYA. The goal was to realize the most detailed model of this aircraft in 1/48 scale.
The F-35 is available in three versions: A for the Air Force, B for the Marines and C for the Navy. Development was under the JSF program (Joint Strike Fighter Program) and the F-35 was intended to represent the fifth generation of fighter jets.
The aircraft has a sophisticated stealth design, a state-of-the-art network and myriad sensors that provide all the data for the pilot and computer.
The F-35 entered service in 2015 and now 3,000 F-35s are planned to be deployed in many different countries.

Required accessories: glue, paint for varnishing and painting, tools.

- Includes seated pilot figure with Helmet-Mounted Display (HMD) and various weapons: AIM-9X Sidewinder, AIM-120C AMRAAM, GBU-12 Paveway II, GBU-31 JDAM.
- Transparent parts for sensor windows
- The model can be built in nine different identifications: U.S. Air Force, Japan Air Self-Defense Force, Royal Norwegian Air Force, Royal Danish Air Force, Royal Australian Air Force, Israeli Air Force, Italian Air Force, Republic of Korea Air Force, and Royal Netherlands Air Force. (Also, drag chute fairing component is included only for the Royal Norwegian Air Force).
